Liberia Maritime Authority Head Reaffirms Liberia’s Commitment to Maritime Safety…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Commissioner and CEO of the Liberia Maritime Authority, Cllr. Neto Lighe has reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to maritime safety and regional cooperation.

Cllr. Lighe emphasized the central role LiMA plays in administering and regulating maritime safety across Liberia and the vessels flying its flag.

He outlined Liberia’s strategic direction, describing efforts to strengthen human resource capacity, implement security measures across vessels and ports, develop regulations that improve navigational aids, and facilitate maritime trade.

According to him, these actions are essential for promoting safety and protecting commerce at both regional and global levels.

He spoke at the climax of the 10th Conference of the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa on Thursday, July 3, 2025, held at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
