Gov. of Liberia to Begin Strategic Retreat…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government, through the Ministry of Finance, is set to commence a strategic retreat aimed at strengthening partnership with the donor community.

The high-level meeting is expected to take place on Thursday, April 15, 2025, in Monrovia and will be chaired by President Joseph Boakai.

Deputy Finance Minister for Economic Management Dephue Zuo named the diplomatic community in Monrovia, the UN, civil society, and the private sector, among others, as stakeholders expected to attend the gathering.

Minister Zuo told the MICAT Press Briefing on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, that the goal of the retreat is to brainstorm on strategic ways in which the government can realign funding to address gaps that were created by the Trump Administration’s aid cut.

He disclosed that the government anticipates having a technical session after the retreat with all parties to the preparation of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).

The Deputy Finance Minister said,” President Joseph Boakai is keen on ensuring that the implementation of the AAID is more inclusive, creative, innovative, and effective.”
