Gov. of Liberia Begins Works 10Km Pipe Project Construction…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has commenced works for the construction of 10 10-kilometer stretch pipe project worth over twelve million US Dollars.

The project seeks to supply safe drinking water from White Plains to Monrovia, upgrading the existing 36-inch pipe to a 48-inch pipe.

Speaking during the unveiling and viewing ceremony, Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) Managing Director, Mohammed Ali, said:” The move is part of the government’s efforts to enhance access to safe drinking water and improve sanitation services across the country.”

The LWSC Managing Director also disclosed that the project comes as a result of a loan agreement between the Government of Liberia and the World Bank, initiated in 2016.

However, Mr. Ali has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that a reliable water supply and efficient sewage management to protect public health and prevent disease outbreaks.

Meanwhile, the Resident Engineer and Project Consultant, Seth Tetteyfio, said the project will last from now to November this year.
