MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has launched a media excellence award as part of celebrations marking its 50th Anniversary.
According to ECOWAS, the initiative intends to recognize the contributions of journalists towards regional peace, security, and economic integration in their reportage.
In an interview on ELBC’s Super Morning Show on Monday, March 10, 2025, ECOWAS Communication Officer Salette Nogueira said:” The Awards reflect deep appreciation for the work of journalists and free media.”
Madam Nogueira urged journalists in each member state of ECOWAS to take advantage of the awards to gain regional recognition for their exceptional reportage.
The ECOWAS Communication Officer, Salette Nogueira, named radio, television, print, online photography, and videography as categories for journalists to send in their entries on or before the March 20, 2025, deadline.
