Pres. Boakai Issues Executive Order 145…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has issued Executive Order 145, extending by an additional year the work of the Asset Recovery Task Force.

The move is intended to strengthen Asset Recovery Efforts and ensure the retrieval and reinstatement of public assets.

According to the release, the Executive Order reinforces the government’s commitment to combating corruption, ensuring accountability, and recovering assets wrongfully acquired by former and current government officials.

Through this mandate, the team will continue to identify, trace, and recover fixed and liquid assets belonging to the government in and out of the country.

The release quotes President Joseph Boakai as reaffirming his administration’s ‘Zero-Tolerance Policy on Corruption,’ emphasizing that “public resources must be safeguarded and returned to serve the interests of the Liberian people.”
