Liberian Gov. to Cultivate More Than 1,000 Hectares of Lowland in Lofa County

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The cultivation of more than one thousand hectares of lowland is set to get underway shortly in Lofa County to boost food production in Liberia.

The land will be cultivated by the Liberian Government, with support from the World Bank and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

Agriculture Minister Dr. Alexander Nuetah named Zorzor, Salayea, Voinjama, Quadubondi, Fanqonda, Vahun, Kulahun, and Foyah as areas being earmarked by the government for the initiative.

The agriculture minister urged residents of Lofa County, especially farmers, to take ownership of the initiative to help the Liberian Government reduce hunger in the Country.

Minister Nuetah spoke Wednesday in Quadubondi District, Lofa County, during the recruitment of farmers for the 2025 production season.
