Liberian Gov., Civil Society to Launch 5th Nat’l Action Plan…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The OGP is a multilateral initiative aimed at securing commitments from national and subnational governments to promote open government, combat corruption, and improve governance.

Liberia joined the OGP in 2011 during the administration of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

In an interview on the Super Morning Show on Monday, February 24, 2025, the Head of the Secretariat, Deputy Information Minister for Administration, Johnny Tarkpah, said:” The launch of the document will mark a significant milestone in the governance process of the country.

Minister Tarkpah said the Action Plan of the OGP holds several government ministries and agencies accountable for the commitments made during the draft process.”

According to Minister Johnny Tarkpah, a robust monitoring mechanism was developed by civil society and OGP International to ensure the implementation of the two-year document.
