Finance Minister Ngafuan Says USAID’s Shutdown Affects Liberia Greatly

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan says Liberia is being impacted greatly by the shutdown of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Minister Ngafuan named health, education, agriculture, and governance as some key areas that have been affected by the cancellation of USAID projects.

He said:” Before the cancellation of the projects, the entity agreed to scale up its support to 120 million United States Dollars, to enhance education, health, and agriculture in Liberia.”

The Liberian Finance Minister was speaking recently when he appeared on the Voice of America.

Meanwhile, Minister Ngafuan has disclosed ongoing plans to strengthen domestic revenue generation and ensure value for money in Liberia.
