Over 500 Residents in Congo Mining Company Operational Areas in Bomi County…

BOMI COUNTY, LIBERIA-More than five hundred residents in the operational area of Congo Mining Company in Bomi County have accused the company of polluting their water.

The residents said the pollution comes after the company blocked the running creek frequently used by them for drinking.

According to our Correspondent, the affected residents reported experiencing skin rashes, headaches, and respiratory problems which they believe are linked to the polluted water.

Our Correspondent quotes the affected residents of the Congo Mining Company as saying they want the government and local county authorities to address the matter swiftly.

The residents of the area are still drinking from the affected running creek because they lack safe drinking water in the county.

Our Correspondent said the Management of the Company has not commented on the issue, and efforts to contact them have failed.
