Nat’l Public Health Institute Declares Greenville Prison Inmates Negative…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has declared inmates at the Greenville prison facility negative for the Monkey Pox Virus.

Recently, it was reported that inmates at the prison facility were showing signs and symptoms of the disease.

However, following molecular testing by the Public Health Responders and the National Reference Lap (NRL) in Margibi County, the inmates were declared free of the virus.

According to an NPHIL release issued recently, similar cases of Monkey Pox-like disease among inmates in Sinje are currently being investigated by the NPHIL at the NRL.

Meanwhile, NPHIL has admonished the public to remain calm and avoid suspects with suspected persons, while following all preventive measures put in place by the entity.
