Civil Service Agency Boss Agency Will Not Promote Illegal Suspension…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Director General of the Civil Service Agency (CSA) says the current CSA, under his watch, will not be a vehicle that promotes illegal suspension and dismissal of civil servants.

Mr. Josiah Joekai pointed out that instead of nurturing illegal actions against employees, the CSA would encourage high performance and ensure that issues affecting the government’s employees are handled with fairness and transparency.

He added that the government would make the required progress once political appointees and workers’ leaderships at the various government entities see themselves as one family working in the interest of Liberia.

He believes that once employees perform their duties with efficiency and effectiveness, the government will succeed, emphasizing that such success will lead to trust and confidence from the citizenry.

Mr. Joekai spoke on Friday, January 31, 2025, when the Commerce Workers’ Association installed its new leadership.

He called on the leadership of the Commerce Workers’ Association not to be unreasonable in engaging the Senior Management Team, but to ensure that their concerns are properly channeled.

In remarks, Commerce Minister Magdalene Dagoseh called on employees of the Ministry to do away with attitudes that have the propensity to tear down national institutions.

Minister Dagoseh said:” While I welcome the right of employees to express their concerns about issues that may be affecting them, there will equally be no room for gossip.”

She encouraged employees of the Ministry to also channel any grievances through their leadership and with due respect.

Minister Dagoseh also stressed the importance of performance and unity, if the Ministry must succeed in serving the Liberian people.

She believes that no institution can make the needed progress without its members giving the best of their time and skills.

The commerce minister vowed to ensure that the merit system, as enshrined in the CSA regulations is upheld.

Commerce Minister Magdalene Dagoseh then reiterated that any good policy decisions that were reached by her predecessors will be upheld, while those that may not suit the Ministry’s current needs will be revisited.
