“Liberian Gov. Not Deterred by Opposition Figures’ Statement”-Deputy Info Minister Sando

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government says it is not deterred by statements from opposition figures of resisting the arrest of persons of interest in connection with the Capitol Building fire incident.

Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, said the government will pursue any individual that will be implicated in the ongoing investigation.

Speaking Thursday at MICAT Regular Press Briefing, Minister Sando, described the statement from the opposition bloc as a mere bluff, only intended to distract the government’s investigative team.

He is, however, cautioning opposition figures against acts that could undermine the peace and stability of Liberia, stating that the government is fully prepared, to ensure accountability in the Capitol Building fire incident.

The Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs said though the government respects the rights of every citizen, it will not condone acts that will derail the Country’s high-earned peace.
