World Bank Country Manager to Liberia Says Climate Change in Liberian Gov.’s ARREST Agenda is Critical…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The World Bank Country Manager to Liberia, Madam Georgia Wallen, has described climate change in the Liberian Government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, a critical and central pillar.

According to Madam Wallen, the inclusion of climate change in its national development plan is a testament that the Government of Liberia prioritizes reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing climate resilience.

The World Bank Country Manager assured that the Ministry of Finance and the World Country Office will help foster and catalyze needed partnership to the achieve those goals.

According to a World Bank release issued recently, Georgia Wallen spoke at the official launch of the Climate Integration and Financing Office in Monrovia.

Madam Wallen stated that the new office will serve as a hub for fostering collaboration across government ministries, agencies, and development partners.

The World Bank Country Manager also stated that the Office will help to foster a cohesive approach to combating climate change and promoting sustainable development in Liberia.
