Police Charges, Sends to Prison Commander Fayiah…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia National Police (LNP) has charged and sent to prison the Commander of Zone-6 Police Depot in Monrovia.

Recently, Defendant David Fayiah allegedly discharged a firearm, resulting in the death of Mohammed Monobah in the Banjor Community in Brewerville, Montserrado County.

Police investigation revealed that Officer Fayiah committed the act during an argument between him and the victim.

The investigation further revealed that the victim did not exhibit any weapon that may have been deemed threatening to warrant the discharge of a firearm by Officer Fayiah.

In another development, the Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Christopher Peters, wants a multi-sectorial approach in the fight against drugs.

Mr. Peters said:” The building of a drug-free society requires the collective efforts of relevant Government institutions through strong collaboration.

The LDEA Officer-in-Charge also called for proper border surveillance by the Joint Security to break the supply chain for drug smugglers.

Mr. Peters also promised to develop a master plan to reduce the usage and consumption of drugs across the country.

The LDEA Boss made the call on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, when he appeared on the ELBC Night Line program.
