Youth and Sports Ministry Lauds House of Rep. for TVET Commission Act

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Youth and Sports has lauded the House of Representatives for passing the Liberia TVET Commission Act of 2024.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister for TVET, Laraamand Nyonton, said:” The passage of the Act is a giant step towards making TVET a national priority.”

Minister Nyonton told ELBC on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, that the TVET Commission, when established by law, will address challenges confronting the sector.

According to him, TVET as a Commission, will provide proper direction, and coordination and increase funding from both the Government and international partners.

Minister Laraamand Nyonton also disclosed plans by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in partnership with the Education Ministry, to construct training centers for TVET instructors to reduce the cost of traveling abroad for training.
