NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Police in Nimba County are investigating a man believed to be in his thirties for allegedly raping a sixteen-year-old girl in the county.

According to ELBC Correspondent, suspect Varney Dopoe allegedly committed the act when the family of the victim took her to him for traditional cleansing.

Suspect Dopoe is believed to be a herbalist in Zorgowee, in Nimba County.

Our Correspondent quotes the victim as saying the suspect raped her in his room and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

Residents in the area informed the police who caught him while trying to escape the scene.

Meanwhile, the victim is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital in the area.
