Executive Submits Financing Agreement between OPEC and Liberia for Ratification

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Branch of the Liberian Government has submitted to the National Legislature for ratification, a financing agreement between the OPEC Fund for International Development and Liberia.

Under the Integrated Fisheries Sector Strengthening Project, the OPEC Fund has approved twenty million dollars and a grant.

The project aims to improve fisheries management while enhancing the livelihood and income of project beneficiaries.

President George Weah said:” The ratification is critical to improving the fisheries management and the implementation of Government’s Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD).”

Meanwhile, the communication has been forwarded to the House’s Committee on Investment and Agriculture, which is expected to report on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
