Liberian Senate Mandates Committee on Executive…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has mandated its Committee on Executive to communicate with the Executive to submit the 2004 Draft National Budget.

A release says the Plenary’s decision followed concern raised by Montserrado County Senator, Abraham Darius Dillon on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Senator Dillon argued that the Senate has two weeks to climax the Sixth Session and up to the present, the 2024 Draft National Budget has not been submitted.

Making reference to the Amended Public Financial Management Law, Senator Dillon said:” The 2024 budget should have been submitted on October 31 this year, but the Executive is yet to do so.”

The Plenary is pushing for the submission of the 2024 Draft National Budget before the adjournment of the Sixth Session.
