MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Campaign Spokesman, Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala has congratulated President George Weah for being a beacon of democracy, by conceding to the results of the just-ended elections.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, Cllr. Gbala said:” Unlike other leaders, President Weah has demonstrated superior leadership by conceding defeat, despite the low margin between him and Ambassador Joseph Boakai.”

The Assistant Professor of Law at the Lewis Arthur Grimes School of Law also congratulated Ambassador Joseph Boakai on his victory, urging him to focus on uniting the country.

Cllr. Gbala further cautioned Ambassador Boakai to restrain radical UP partisans bent on using a recent accident that claimed three Unity Partisan lives to wrongfully blame and target CDC partisans.

The former CDC Campaign Spokesman noted that such action has the propensity to undermine the peace and provoke violence.
