Success Minor Rallies Liberians to Turn Out and Vote Peacefully

An official of the Association of Liberian Journalists (ALJA) in the Americas wants Liberians remain peaceful and law-abiding during the crucial run-off elections slated for Tuesday, November 14.

Success A. Minor, the President of ALJA’s Midwest Chapter, called on political parties and Liberians in general to see the country as a ‘bigger picture’ and make decision that will make Liberia better.

The former Montserrado County District 13, Representative Aspirant is at the same time urging politicians and the media to put the country first in their dealings, something he believes will go a long way in enhancing Liberia’s democratic credentials.

In a statement Friday, the ALJA official believed it is high time Liberians exhibit the same peaceful and orderly manner in which the voted during the first round on October 10, 2023. “Congratulations to you all. Your actions were so amazing” Success Minor added.

He urged Liberians to turn out again in their numbers to vote in the spirit of peace and unity in order to ‘make a wise decision that will benefit of the nation’.

“As a politician myself, let me use this medium to appeal to my colleagues to stand for what they believe in and discourage any act by their supporters or partisans that has the propensity to derail the hard-earned peace of the Country” Mr. Minor averred.

While admonishing Liberians to have trust and confidence in the electoral process and accept the outcome, Mr. Minor called on the National Elections Commission to create a level plain field for all and ensure accountability, credibility and transparency will be the hallmark of the 2023 elections.

He also left a word for his former colleagues in the media, saying “to the media, I challenge you all to report the truth and nothing but the truth and to ensure that believability be the cornerstone for all that you do. Avoid fake news and misinformation and disinformation that will hinder the peace and forward March of our beloved Country. Long live Liberia, peace first, peace last and Congratulations to Liberia as the biggest winner of our democratic process”.
