Liberian Senate Raises Doubt…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has raised serious qualms with the Finance Ministry over the disbursement of County Development Funds across the country.

The Senate mandated the Finance Ministry to reappear before it next Tuesday, October 31, 2023, to provide a comprehensive report on the disbursement of County Development Funds.

It followed the failure of the Finance Ministry to convince the august body on the payment of County Development Funds to local authorities across the country.

Deputy Finance Minister for Fiscal Affairs, Samora Wolokollie, told the Senate on Thursday, October 27, 2023, that the Liberian Government has disbursed one point five Million United States Dollars to the fifteen counties, amounting to fifty percent of the fund.

Minister Wolokollie said:” The balance of one point five million dollars will be paid before the 2023 fiscal year elapses.”
