Nat’l Elections Commission Now Confirms Voting in Sinoe County

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia says voting has taken place in Sinoe County where elections were not held.

According to NEC, voting did not take place in some parts of the County due to natural causes.

The Commission Chairperson, Davidetta Brown-Lasanah, said:” Currently all voting places in Sinoe County have been covered, with the counting process well on course.”

Meanwhile, the NEC is reporting disruption of the counting process in two polling places in Upper Nimba County District Four.

Madam Brown-Lasanah said:” The Liberia National Police (LNP) has been dispatched to restore calm in the area.”

At the same time, the Commission has reported a fire outbreak at the Upper Bong County Magisterial Office.

The Commission says the fire has been quenched and all the election materials remain undamaged.
