“Coalition for Democratic Change attracting thousands of first-time voters”-Cllr. Gbala

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is said to be attracting thousands of first-time voters since the start of the campaign for October’s elections.

In all the counties visited by President George Weah and the CDC Campaign Team, thousands of young people have committed to voting for the Liberian Leader.

CDC National Campaign Spokesman, Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala believes the CDC is the only party that attracting first-time voters, because of the impact President Weah has had on their lives.

Cllr. Gbala made specific mention of the President’s WASSCE fee payment policy which has since benefitted more than two-hundred thousand young people over the years.

He said:” In nearly six years, the Liberian Government has spent almost twenty million dollars to relieve parents of the burden of paying WASSCE fees for their children.”

The CDC Campaign Spokesman is certain that the majority of the first-time voters will vote for President Weah in appreciation of what he has done for them over the years.

Meanwhile, CDC District-One Representative candidate, Ruth James, has denied claims that she is hiding a murder suspect identified as, Samuel Porte.

Madam James’ clarification followed the report that her vehicle was used by the Liberia National Police (LNP) to rescue the suspect from mob violence but maintained that she had no connection with the suspect.

According to her, her vehicle has usually been used by several residents of Crozerville Township to aid them in transporting sick patients outside of the district to seek treatment.

The CDC District-One Representative candidate, however, described the murder of the woman as regrettable.

At the same time, a stalwart of the CDC, Hassan Newland, says thousands of Liberians are gearing up to officially launch the re-election campaign of President George Weah today Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Mr. Newland said:” Partisans and supporters have already begun arriving in Monrovia to form part of the event at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.”

He told ELBC that activities will bring together market women, motorcyclists, the student community, and CDC auxiliary groups, among others.

According to him, President Weah is massively improving the country and Liberians are upbeat to give him a second-term mandate to complete ongoing developments.

Mr. Hassan Newland then urged citizens to reject failed opposition politicians to save the state from another six years of hardship.
