GBARNGA, BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-A dialogue aimed at developing a policy to help strengthen the reconciliation process in Liberia has begun in Gbarnga, Bong County.

Addressing the forum on Thursday, August 10, 2023, the Executive Director of the Peace Building Office, Edward Mulbah, disclosed that an 18-year strategic road map for National Peace Building, Healing and Reconciliation has been developed.

He, however, noted that the process of reconciliation is on a slow pace in Liberia due to the lack of written policy on National Reconciliation.

Mr. Mulbah said:” Though President George Weah began the process of implementation of the reconciliation road map in 2013 when he was Peace Ambassador, no policy on reconciliation has been put in place yet.”

Mr. Edward Mulbah emphasized that there is a need for a policy on Reconciliation, and is optimistic that the Liberian Government will ensure it is implemented when the poly is put into place.
