Nat’l Traditional Council of Chiefs and Elders Urges Liberians…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Traditional Council of Chiefs and Elders is urging Liberians and Political Parties’ leaders to remain committed to promoting peace and democracy in the country.

The Spokesperson of the Council, Chief Matthew Smith, said:” It is incumbent upon every citizen, including political actors, to shun violence and hate speeches, and thrive to uphold the tenets of democracy during and after electioneering.”

Chiefs Smith believes such a move will go a long way in making Liberia a role model for other countries in the sub-region.

The Council’s Spokesperson also assured Liberians that the Council remains committed to buttressing Government’s strides to promoting peace in the country.

Chief Matthew Smith spoke on Monday’s Edition of the Super Morning Show.
