River Gee County Decries Increase in Basic Commodity Prices

RIVER GEE COUNTY, LIBERIA-Prices of basic commodities are said to be on the increase in River Gee County.

ELBC Correspondent quotes marketers as attributing the situation to a hike in the exchange rate between the US and Liberian Dollars.

Rice is reportedly sold for five thousand Liberian Dollars, while a gallon of gas is sold for one-thousand-five hundred Liberian Dollars, among others.

Our Correspondent said the current exchange rate between the US Dollar to that of the Liberian Dollars is one-hundred-ninety-four to one USD.

Meanwhile, citizens of River Gee County are calling on the relevant authorities to address the situation.
