Ministry of Education Suspends Giddings Polytechnic Operational Permit…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Education has suspended the Operational Permit of the Giddings Polytechnic Institute in Margibi County.

The local Education Officer of Margibi County, Steven Toe, said:” The institution was suspended for breaching the 2022/2023 academic calendar guidelines.”

It can be recalled that on July 6, 2023, the school paraded with a coffin through the principal streets of Kakata City, during its gala day celebrations.

Mr. Toe said the unusual move is totally against the guidelines on gala day activities put in place by the Ministry of Education.

Mr. Steven Toe told ELBC that the Giddings Polytechnic Institute violated the code of conduct and education laws of Liberia, and it will remain suspended until the outcome of an ongoing investigation into the matter.
