MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) is on a week-long fact-finding mission in three coastal counties in the Southeast.

The counties are Maryland, Sinoe, and Grand Kru.

NaFAA Director General, Emma Glassco, said:” The tour is accessing impacts and addressing potential challenges to make the Country’s Fishery Sector viable”.

Madam Glassco said so far on the tour, fishermen have complained about the presence of huge foreign nationals on Liberia’s waters and involvement in unregulated fishing activities.

She, however, assured them of working with relevant authorities to address some of their concerns.

Meanwhile, the fishing communities have lauded NaFAA and President George Weah for taking a keen interest in making the fishing industry viable.
