MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Executive Committee of the People’s Unification Party (PUP) has suspended its Chairman, Samuel Korgar, with immediate effect.

The Party said its decision is based on the alleged refusal of its suspended Chairman to comply with its mandate to endorse the re-election bid of President George Weah.

The PUP’s official position statement on the suspension of Chairman Korgar was read by its National Secretary General, Moses Kwehai, on Thursday, April 27, 2023, in Congo Town.

Mr. Kwehai said:” The Party’s decision is in line with Article 8 of its By-Laws and Constitution”.

He said the Party’s decision was endorsed by a two-thirds majority of its Governing Council and National Executive Committee.
