Pres. Weah Pledges to Construct Public Library in Grand Bassa County

BUCHANAN, GRAND BASSA COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah has pledged to construct a public library for thousands of students in Grand Bassa County.

According to ELBC Executive Mansion Reporter, President Weah said:” I am committed to supporting the Education Sector through the provision of basic educational facilities.”

The President reassured Liberian Students that his administration will continue working along with partners in making the dreams and aspirations of school-going children a reality.

The Liberian Leader gave the assurance on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at an interactive discussion with the student community of Grand Bassa County.

President Weah also cautioned the students to be hard-working and dedicated to achieving their goals.

President Weah was responding to an appeal made by the student community for the construction of a public library in the County.

The Spokesperson of the Bassa Student Community, Blessing Walker, said the library construction is crucial to enhancing their education activities, especially for research h purposes.

Miss Walker maintained that the provision of research facilities for the student community will also put them on par with their colleagues in the sub-region.

They described the absence of a public library in the County as serious, amid the majority student population’s access to modern technology to facilitate research.
