“African Leaders should demonstrate more commitment to youth development through quality investment”-Mr. Jersey

CHINA-A Leading Liberian Youth Campaigner is rallying African Leaders to demonstrate more commitment to youth development through quality investment.

The President of the All-Africa Student Union, Varney Jersey, believes that such investment will strengthen the economic position of African youth and enhance the quality of life on the continent.

Mr. Jersey wants African Leaders to adopt similar approaches, like the ones carried out by China in the last few years, lifting millions of citizens out of poverty.

He was speaking on Tuesday, April 19, 2023, in an ELBC interview on the margins of the Seventh China-Africa Youth Festival in Beijing, with forty-nine African Leaders in attendance.

Mr. Jersey said during the festival, he will seek to deepen ties between youth and student bodies in China and the African Continent.
