Liberian Journalists Join Colleagues across the World in Commemoration of World Radio Day

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberian journalists are joining their colleagues across the world today, Monday, to commemorate World Radio Day 2023.

World Radio Day was first proposed by Spain in September 2010 and supported by broadcasting associations around the world.

In November 2011, Radio Day was unanimously endorsed by the UNESCO Member States to be observed on February 13 of each year.

A Press Union of Liberia (PUL) release issued said this year’s international theme for World Radio Day is:” Radio and Peace”, while the local theme is:” Celebrating Radio to Sustain Peace ahead of the 2023 Elections.”

The release also quotes the PUL of Liberia as urging radio stations across the Country to realign their contents with rival political parties and civil interest groups, ahead of October elections.
