Agriculture Minister Cooper urges Gov’t to reconsider balancing of inputs…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Agriculture Minister Jennie Cooper is urging the Liberian Government to revisit the balancing of inputs against local production of food in the Country.

Minister Cooper called for intensified efforts towards merchandized farming and processing, adding that the current food crisis is enough to reframe ways to tackle food insecurity.

She further stressed the need for partnership in ways that help the country to catalyze sustainable development and triple yield solutions.

Minister Cooper said:” Liberia’s food security approach must also address women empowerment and youth employment.”

She added that women in Liberia play a significant role in food production and as such, must be adequately empowered beyond the provision of high yielding seeds.
