Drug Enforcement Agency burnt drug worth One Million US Dollars

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has burnt drug worth one-hundred-million United States Dollars.

The huge quantity of drug was recently confiscated by the Joint Security along the Japan Freeway in Monrovia.

Speaking at the burning ceremony on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Barclay Training Center in Monrovia, Justice Minister Frank Musa Dean described the confiscation of the drug as a major achievement for the security sector.

He said: “Liberia will not be used as a transit or safe haven for drug traffickers, and following thorough investigation, those caught will be prosecuted in line with the law of Liberia.”

Minister Dean thanked the Joint Security and international partners for their collective efforts in arresting the situation.
