Gender Minister Tarr reassures of Liberia’s commitment…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Gender Minister Williametta Saydee-Tarr has reassured of Liberia’s commitment to the two Action Coalitions adopted at the Generation Equality Forum (GEF) at UN in New York.

Minister Tarr said:” The GEF seeks to accelerate the prevention of gender-based violence and promote economic rights and justice.”

She shared progress in implementing the commitments, including the development of the Government’s Anti-SGBV Roadmap and the three-year suspension on the practice of FGM.

Minister Tarr added that the Ministry has initiated the process of consultations with other Government ministries and stakeholders on the development of a Feminist Foreign Policy.

She said the consultations, which will also involve the civil society, will inform the formulation of a feminist foreign policy framework.
