Two feared dead following canoe capsized in Lofa County

LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Report from Lofa County says two persons are feared dead following a canoe that capsized over the Makona River.

According to ELBC Lofa County Correspondent, the incident occurred Friday, September 9, 2022 at 6:30 pm.

Police investigation at the scene established that the canoe owned by a Guinean was overloaded with seven persons and a TVS-Motor bike on board, and there was no live jacket.

Five were rescued while rescuers are still searching for Nancy Chando, an adult who is a Guinean and her grandchild Weedor Zubahyea, a Liberian.
