Justice Ministry dismisses two Correction Officers in Grand Gedeh County…..

GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, LIBERIA-Two Correction Officers at the National Palace of Corrections in Grand Gedeh County have been dismissed by the Ministry of Justice.

The officers were dismissed for aiding and abetting the escape of a convicted murderer, Zubah Kalivougu, last month.

The suspended officers are Chief of Operations Olive Benyea and Correction Officer Victor Doerue.

The Justice Ministry hopes their dismissal will serve as a deterrent to would-be violators of the institution code of ethics.

Meanwhile, citizens have described the Justice Ministry’s action as laudable and great effort to maintain the sanctity of the justice system.

Convict Kalivougu escaped from the officers when he was being escorted at the Martha Tubman Hospital in Zwedru for medical treatment.
