NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Nimba County Native and Traditional Affairs Superintendent has warned against the unlawful and negative practice of the culture in the County.

Mr. Melvin Duo made the comment after twenty young people in the County publicly admitted to their participation into a “Snake Society”.

According to Superintendent Duo, they have since been referred to Dahnpa, to undergo oath to denounce further participation.

He said:” The move is to ensure that youths in the County stop portraying the culture as devilish.”

Meanwhile, in 2003 a group of young people were initiated into the Snake Society with the aim of harming peaceful citizens.
