GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Agriculture Minister Jeannie Cooper says the recent inclusion of Liberia on the US Government’s Feed the Future (FTF) program is a demonstration of confidence in the Country’s Agriculture Sector.

Minister Cooper hailed the US and other partners for their continuous support towards programs of the Agriculture Ministry.

She believes such support from the donors will help in increasing access to finance, and boost the scope of operation of the Agriculture Sector.

Last month, US President Joe Biden named Liberia among eight new target African countries to benefit from the FTF program.

Madam Cooper believes Liberia was selected because the Ministry has positioned itself on the right path.

Minister Cooper spoke Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the ongoing special Cabinet Retreat in Ganta, Nimba County.

Liberia’s inclusion under the expanded FTF made it the sixth West African country, after Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal to benefit.
