Senate votes to inform Executive about outsourcing Roberts International Airport

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has voted to inform the Executive on outsourcing the Roberts International Airport (RIA), in Margibi County.

It followed reports from its Ad-Hoc Committee recently constituted to investigate structural and management issues at the airport.

The Committee, in its report to Plenary Tuesday, July 12, 2022, called for an overhaul of the RIA to meet international standards.

The Committee also recommended the establishment of a solar field to provide stable electricity, and the purchasing of additional fire trucks at the RIA.

Meanwhile, Plenary has set next Friday, July 22, 2022, for public hearings with stakeholders and expect s to find immediate solution to the Roberts International Airport situation.
