US Ambassador to Liberia wants two strategic bills passed into law

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States Ambassador, Michael McCarthy, wants Local Government and Revenue Sharing Bills before the National Legislature passed into law.

Ambassador McCarthy said:” The two bills are vital to the growth and development of Liberia.”

He spoke Wednesday, March 30, 2022, when he paid a courtesy call on the Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, at his Internal Affairs Ministry Office on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.

Ambassador McCarthy also disclosed that the US Government is impressed with the passage of Local Government Act, describing it as significant to the governance structure of Liberia.

The US Diplomat said:” The passage of both bills into law will involve local residents in the administration of their counties, as a way of making Government responsive to the people.”
