MONROVIA , LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has dropped criminal charges against Political Commentator and Activist Henry Costa.

This includes, but not limited to, all former charges and criminal investigations, according to a Justice Ministry statement.

Justice Minister Fran Musa Dean has, at the same time, mandated the Department of Prosecution to work with the court to ensure that Mr. Costa gets back his broadcast equipment seized upon the orders of the court, based on an application filed by the State.

The release said that the move is a re-echo of the Olive branch of peace recently ext ended to Mr. Costa by President George Weah, at which time he urged him to return home and live as other compatriots.

In the same vein, the Liberian Government has reminded Mr. Costa that the seizure of his broadcast equipment, through appropriate court process, was due to his deliberate and willful violation of the constitutional freedom of expression.

The statement also ruged him to use the Olive branch of peace to live within the confines of the law by upgrading the standards of his advocacy beyond the borders of recrimination and misinformation for the progressive development of the Country.

The statement further called on other social commentators and political advocates using various outlets to market their views, bearing in mind that the solemn promise of the Government and re-unite people and develop the Country for the good of all Liberians.
