Pres. Weah wants ECOWAS Member States ensure democratic rule prevails in……

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah is rallying support of ECOWAS to ensure that three of its member states return to democratic civilian rule. 

The countries include Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso.

The Liberian Leader said:” The recent military takeovers in the three countries run contrary to democratic tenets and good governance.”

President Weah condemned the actions urging members of the ECOWAS Parliament to ensure that their deliberations and conclusion proffer a lasting and speedy solution to the problem at hand.

He called on heads of state to find sustainable solution to the maintenance of peace and security in the sub- region, and ensure that member states adhere to the principles of democracy and rule of law.

President Weah made the statement at the opening of the 2022 First Extraordinary Session of ECOWAS Parliament taking place in Monrovia.
