Minister McGill cautions Red Light Marketers to return to Omega Market

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs says the Country risks losing millions of dollars, if ongoing road construction work in the Red Light area is not completed by April this year.

Minister Nathaniel McGill attributed the slow progress of the project to the refusal of marketers to return to the Omega Market.

Minister McGill said:” Government has spent hugely to construct the Omega Market, only to be abandoned by the people it was intended for.”

Meanwhile, Government is reiterating calls for the peaceful relocation of marketers from the Red Light to the Omega Market.

Minister McGill said:” Government does not intend to use force, and has scheduled a meeting between the Liberia Marketing Association Leadership and state actors for the Friday, January 28, 2022.”
