Police vows to clamp down on disadvantaged youths (Zogos)

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia National Police (LNP) have strongly vowed to clamp down on disadvantaged youths, also known as ‘zogos’, in the wake of the heavy loss of lives, when they reportedly invaded a church crusade in the Borough of New Kru Town, on the Bushrod Island.

Police Inspector General, Col. Patrick Sudue, said:” The police will not relent to go after and prosecute anyone attempting to instill fear and a form of instability among citizens.”

He, however, disclosed that the police have arrested three persons linked to the incident.

Col. Sudue warned the public to allow the police to independently investigate the matter and bring alleged perpetrators to book.

He said at some point in time, the public was seen stopping the police from raiding a huge cluster of criminals in the Duala Market, outside Monrovia, thus obstructing the function of the police.

Col. Sudue made the statement Thursday, January 20, 2022, in New Kru Town, while addressing scores of reporters.
