Bea Mountain Workers continue strike action in Grand Cape Mount County

GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-Aggrieved workers at the Bea Mountain Company are continuing their strike action across the Company’s operation sites, in Grand Cape Mount County.

Days of protest by the workers have paralyzed the operations of the Company.

ELBC Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent said latest attempt to dialogue with the workers ended in chaos on Monday, January 10, 2023, as both Management and workers could not find a common ground.

According to our Correspondent, the meeting later turned violent with reports of a car being set ablaze.

Earlier on Monday, the Head of the protesting workers, Boakai Tarafero, said:” We will continue our strike with unspecified actions, until the Company meets our demands.”

The aggrieved workers are demanding better salary, improved working condition, safety and better social services for concession communities.
