Liberia records 33-new cases of COVID-19 as Health Minister calls for adherence to Health Protocols

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is said to be experiencing an increase in new COVID-19 infections.

According to Health Minister, Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, the Country recorded thirty-three new cases as of Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Speaking Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the Special MICAT News Conference in Monrovia, the Health Minister attributed the increase in cases to Liberians’ failure to continue abiding by the health protocols.

Dr. Jallah wants Liberians to go back to the routine protocols, especially as the Country prepares to commemorate its Bicentennial program.

Dr. Jallah felt short to announce the number of active cases, on grounds that she does not want to scare citizens.

She, however, noted that the situation needs serious consideration by all citizens, as it could have implications on the Country’s Bicentennial celebrations.

Health Minister Jallah reiterated the need for every Liberian and foreign residents in the Country to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
