Defense Ministry to begin recruitment exercise of new personnel

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of National Defense has released its itinerary for the national recruitment of new personnel of the Armed forces of Liberia (AFL).

Assistant Defense Minister for Public Affairs, Sam Collins, said:” The nationwide recruitment exercise will take place as per geographical regions.”

Mr. Collins told a news conference on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, that the exercise will commence on January 4, 2022, at the Barclay Training Center (BTC) for recruits from Margibi, Grand Bassa and Montserrado Counties.

He said the mobile recruitment will kick off on February 7, in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, with citizens of Bomi, Gbarpolu and Grand Cape Mount Counties targeted in the Western Region.

The exercise will continue on February 21, in Lofa, Nimba and Bong Counties, the Northern Region, while activities in the Southeastern Region will commence on March 7.

The Assistant Defense Minister disclosed that the preparatory training for females, which attracted eight-hundred women, has concluded.

But those who benefited from the training will have to go through the nationwide exercise.
