Independent Nat’l Commission on Human Rights says more women, children missing…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Independent National Commissioner on Human Rights (INCHR) says more women and children have been missing between July September this year.

The latest statistics were contained in a statement delivered by the Chairperson of the Commission, Cllr. Dempster Brown, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Cllr. Brown also captured the wave of mysterious deaths, including ritualistic killings, targeting women and children across the fifteen counties of Liberia.

He said:” An individual identified as Alexander Yenue disappeared in River Gee County and has not been seen, while the whereabouts of Madam Eliza Roberts missing in Maryland County is still unknown.”

The Head of the INCHR said:” Individuals ridding on motorcycles are also using white handkerchiefs to kidnap others at night.”

Meanwhile, Cllr. Brown has attributed the situation to several challenges being faced by the Liberia National Police (LNP).

He wants the Liberian Government empower the LNP by providing vehicles and attractive incentives to motivate police officers.
