Supreme Court suspends Cllr. Nwabudike from practicing law…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Supreme Court of Liberia has suspended Cllr.Ndubusi Nwabudike for practicing law in Liberia for six months.

The Supreme Court’s ruling said Cllr. Nwabudike violated the code of ethics for lawyers by giving conflicting accounts of his date of birth, age and marriage certificate, describing it as inconsistencies.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Francis Korkpor, has since instructed the Justice Ministry to take siege of the matter regarding the nationality of the former Liberia-Anti-Corruption Commission Executive Chairperson.

Chief Justice Korkpor also ruled that neither the Bar Association nor the Supreme Court has jurisdiction over matters of nationality or citizenship.

Cllr. Nwabudike’s citizenship saga followed his nomination of President George Weah to serve as Chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC), where he provided conflicting accounts of his credentials and nationality during confirmation hearing at the Liberian Senate.
